What's the best online system for doing taxes nowdays?

Is it just Turbotax? Seems like in 2020 we ought to be able to shoot photos of shite and load it all in automatically. My wife's employer's w2 is never there to simply load in without me typing shite. Then there are a few 1099s and some investment docs.
Doing the shite myself this year because not a lot of moving parts.

credit karma has one. I use turbo tax so I don't know how good it is.

I moved from TurboTax to H&R Block a few years ago for reasons I can’t recall at the moment.

Used Credit Karma this year and compared it to Taxact, saved me a lot of money.

Take my advice, and this stems from experience of having two IRS agents in my house 2 weeks ago, go see a CPA. I’ve been using TurboTax for ever - 15+ years. Agents sat at my dining room table and tell me the vast majority of folks they audit are TurboTax (or something similar) users. Prepare thy anus

Turbo tax every year, never had an issue. Ours is very basic, just W2s and routine deductions. Pretty much idiot proof too.

I did Credit Karma this year instead of Turbo Tax and it was totally seamless.
I filled everything out on TurboTax without submitting just to compare, and it was the same. But TurboTax is sketchy as frick with their lobbying from what I've read, so I switched to Credit Karma.

If you are going to use Turbotax it's going to cost you a little over $80.00 for Fed and State..Check Bestbuy they had the Turbotax CD (Fed and State).. for $40.00 a month ago... I would imagine you get everything that you would online...

Credit Karma is free and seamless . If your taxes are straightforward, this is the way to go. TurboTax would be better if you have a lot of extra stuff like a business, extra tax write offs that are out if the norm.

I wouldn’t use an online service if I itemized, but our taxes are stupid easy. Couple of W-2, few 1099-INT, and a 1098-E for my student loan interest. Then take the standard deduction. Happy to print out a copy of each of those for someone to read at my kitchen table for a few hours
