While the LC is the goat, should an $85k SUV be considered in the bang for your buck discussion?

Yea, some people are really missing the mark with their responses in this thread.

76K I agree its expensive for some but when you look at the life of the greatest suv built its a great value and you can also buy preowned.

I will yield to poors of the ot and give a reluctant endorsement of the 4runner also if they cannot budget for the LC

You have a point. I was mainly referring to price vs a similarly equipped model of another brand. The reliability is definitely an unknown at this point, but the 6 yr / 72k mi warranty somewhat helps to offset that.

You have to shell out 50k if you want leather seats in it, though.

I wonder who is buying the Ford Explorer. Sales figure is strong at @250K units a year.

They look nice but not sure I trust it long term.

A lot of companies purchase them for fleet/pool vehicles. The Explorers are very popular in the corporate white-collar world. Similar to F-150s for company field trucks for their blue-collar employees.

Rental car companies also eat them up.

I just traded in my 2013 Jeep GC with 110,000 Miles on it. They told me the lifters and rocker arms were bad and it would be more cost efficient for me to get a new engine for $3k. Needless to say I will NEVER buy another POS Chrysler product in my life.

Could be police/sheriff departments buying Explorers as well.

VW Atlas

How does anyone know this? It hasn't been around long enough. They could literally all fall apart at 50k miles and we wouldn't know yet.

FYI warranty 6 years/72,000 miles

I recently got an Atlas and am blown away by what you get for the money

Probably not so much anymore after the carbon monoxide issues.
