What's the benefits of nitrogen filled tires....?

I see advertising for nitrogen filled tires saying it helps with tire life... But air is 78% nitrogen... Is this just a bunch of b.s. like when all these oxygen bars started popping up....

That I can't air them myself and have to take it to the tire store. fricking pain in the arse.

The benefit is that someone somewhere is charging for it as a premium.

It's supposed to be for more stable tire pressure IIRC

None. It's a high-priced scam.

Correct. Nitrogen won't expand and contract with temperature swings as much as air will.
The difference is minimal however and you really aren't "saving money" in the long run

You could have said, "no, N2 filled tires is fricking stupid. Unless you race cars"

I wouldn't pay extra for it, but Costco does it automatically and I got my last set of tires there.
I'm sure the marketing says something like the nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen so less prone to leakage.

So other than a more stable tire pressure, it's basically the same as air.... Ok, I'd rather top my tires with my compressor at home for free than drive to a tire shop and pay for nitrogen....
Thanks....
Thanks....

Yes, if you want to asphyxiate yourself.

The dealership gives me unlimited free nitrogen fill-ups but there is no way I am driving there whenever a tire needs a little air so I just fill at the gas station.

Nitrogen is more stable. It makes a difference in racing where 1 second in 5 hours of racing is the difference between 3rd and 7th. In a regular car, the difference would not justify any cost.

Air from a compressor with a dryer on it will be just as effective a Nitrogen. its the moisture that causes the swings, not the air itself. normal air is 3/4 nitrogen already

Airplanes use it because it provides a little less support for tires catching fire if the brakes overheat.

They go faster than cheap, non-nitrogen tires.
