According to car gurus.com best price in the country is in Arizona and it’s 33,388.

You aren’t far off.

Got them to add running boards

Oh frick no. Nothing makes that poser ride worse than the fricking running boards.

“Are you going to off-road it?” Yea right, 6 people on the planet off-road 4runners, the rest put running boards on them.

You might find this shocking but there are other benefits of having a body on frame, rear wheel drive comfortable SUV with a proven reliable high displacement engine.

It is one of the last remaining such vehicles and is the king of reliability. Do yes, a lot of people buy this vehicle to pull their boat, camper or trailer and gasp, never go off road.

The OT pays above MSRP, so you are too low.

Almost no one goes off-road in a brand new $40k truck they still owe on. Running boards would be the last damn thing you’d want if you were too.

No worries. I sold my Tacoma because I wanted to go on tougher trails. It was either full sliders, bumpers, and an ARB locker...or sell it. I got the wife a luxury SUV and I’ll bide my time on an off-road vehicle. I’ll buy something I can literally walk away from.

My 2008 4Runner has been so solid, 180k and only changed the oil. I paid $23,000 for it with around 30k in 2009, it's probably worth $7,000 today. So basically, $16k of value lost in 11 years....that's strong.

When I get a new ride, it will be another 4Runner, although, I'm probably sticking used.

We bought my wife a 2019 TRD Off Road Premium new, it ends up being about $1000 more than the SR5 4x4 Premium and you get the locking rear diff, hill assist, crawl control, and all the other 4x4 related stuff, paid $40k which seems decent. She loves it, I'm jealous of it, we do use the 4x4 from time to time, we had a week long camping trip to Colorado planned for this summer but put that on hold as we have a baby on the way.

4runners are incredibly overpriced. Extremely reliable.

If you plan to keep the vehicle for 10 years.. sure.

If you plan to wheel it? Sure..

If not, go Jeep Grand Cherokee, keep it for four years then dump it

Are they?

The only thing I'd say is that JGC's have better interiors and that 4Runner interiors look like they're made to appeal to teenagers

I own a Gen 4 and a Gen 5 4x4.

That is a decent price for a 2020.

You’re a dumbass. Straight off the lot they are not ready for serious off-roading (TRD Pro is good off the lot} but with a few tweaks they are off road beasts. I bought a 2017 TRD Offroad Premium and did a few upgrades (real sliders, better rear springs, Bilstein 6112 coil overs in front and Bilstein 5160s in back, Light Racing upper control arms, and a full length EeziAwn expedition rack) and then took it on a 3 week road trip with my son. We did all of the passes near the million dollar highway multiple times in both directions (Engineer Pass, Black Bear, Cinnamon). I did with a Baroud tent and 400 pounds of gear on the roof. It made even complicated stuff easy.
