re: What's a company or product that really turned itself around by "rebranding"?

Wow. Miller Lite had some goobers designing logos. That era from like 95-2015 was just loaded with godawful futuristic logos.
I remember all of those shitty Miller Lite logos except the '92-98 one pictured there is confusing the hell out of me.
Doubt someone at miller said hey lets try a new can design. Whatever marketing firm was on top at the time convinced some suit this will sell beer.
For context

Bud light always had a gay brand vibe after they dropped the weiser from the brand.

TBF 98 was just a rearranged version of the OG plus the word Miller.
I love the og/current can BUT it is probably best for the can to say Miller

AB InBev is so diversified, they might have taken a loss with Bud Light, but all of their other brand beers had an increase.
I see your point, they pushed their other beers more to make up for the gap in sales. So not necessarily rebranding but more of a shift of corporate focus.

Did you learn about that in your community college class, Mr. Bell?

Some might not remember the rebrand because once it takes affect for several years, people forget about it

Netflix used to only sell DVDs
Dunkin’ Donuts
Domino’s
Apple
Lamborghini used to only sell tractors
Mastercard
Nokia used to primarily sell tires
Stanley
Champion
Old Spice
VOlkswagon
Volvo
Hyundai
Kia

I wondered if anyone would get the reference. It also happens to be accurate.

I found it funny when guys would belly up to the bar and say "F*ck Bud Light, give me a (insert Busch, Corona, Landshark, Rolling Rock, Michelob) instead"
I doubt you ever experienced that
Saw it plenty in Ascension parish dive bars (AP jabs incoming). Even the old man bar regular threw out his hand knitted Budweiser beer koozie.
They'd give a hard time to anyone who ordered a Bud Light.
Most of the regulars switched to Lite or Coors.

I have worked in IT for 2 restaurant chains who went through rebranding, and both were very successful. One was Sonic moving from the Frankie Avalon motif to what they called Sonic 2000. It was very successful and helped drive growth for quite a while.

Apple. They were left in the dust by Microsoft when Windows came out.
WWF. I would say the Attitude Era was definitely a rebranding.

Hell, I knew a bartender up here that would push the bottle through a napkin before he served a Bud Lite to regulars. That way, it was wearing a skirt while they drank it
