Same here. I live 5.7 miles from my office. It often takes 30-40 minutes to get home.

I'd rather just live in Winnsboro and save the time/money instead of having a 40 minute commute every day. Drive to Monroe to go out on the weekend...or make weekend trips to other cities with more to do.

You can get a 3 bedroom apt. there, with fireplace, for $550 a month. Living in Winnsboro means you save enough gas in commuting, depending on your car's gas mileage, to pay for 2-3 months rent.
Live cheaply and sock the money away for emergency fund, retirement fund, and house fund, when that time comes.
There are 4900 people there. There will probably be a handful worth dating. Find a decent one and have her show you around. I would bet dating is cheap there and your mission is to sock money away.
