What would you do if your millennial kid was unemployed after college?

Obviously you take him/her in, and you give them an opportunity to get on their feet.
But how long do you let it go on before you pull the plug?

If my kid doesn't have a job at fourteen he's sleeping outside.

Obvious to who? Helicopter parents?

They will be working somewhere. Will be one of the prerequisite for staying at home. Just may not be what they want.

Tell him to go be a teacher.
I bet you know a thing or two about this.

Take them back in my home? That seems to be the usual, which is strange to me.

I'd be ok with it if they were working somewhere and contributing. If they are still home at 25 and not a student then we need to have a talk.

Maybe a few months if they are actively pursuing employment which to me means spending 40 hours a week working the web, applying for any position they are even remotely qualified for, networking with anyone they can think of who may connect them with a job, and also picking up any part time work they can. If they are sitting on their arse playing video games and texting all day I would immediately drop them off at the nearest armed forces recruiting station.

I think the statistic is 1/3 of millennials have moved back home with their parents. Wowzer.

Same here, but I am old, most of my generation had an old man that even if they never really said it directly you knew that once you left home after high school it was a one way street.

I am on the line of a millennial. My dad told me I have two months after graduation to find a job.

They can live with me for a small fee and a lot of labor.
Cost of living is a lot for low paying entry level positions so theres some slack to be had. But a job is a job.. go work retail idgaf. But a line must be drawn.
Slack doesnt mean you live with me rent and job free.
For the record i lived at home with my mom until 23.. but i also paid all the bills for her with my hot arse surveying job i worked while going to school.

I'm 29 and still live with my parents. I haven't been able to get a job yet even though I only have 2 semesters left for my kinesiology degree. It's not like I'm just free loading though. I cut the grass and take the trash out and shite like every week
