Running with headphones, music as loud as I want, on a trail with dense trees if I so choose, without getting a little panicky every time I’m alone on a stretch with a guy who’s behind me.

After 9PM I'd be running risk assessment through my head too.

Some woman posted this on FB the other day. Comical. You know what the violent crime rates are against men and women? 22% for men and 19% for women.

reminds me of this article:
quote:

This year was an exceptionally difficult year for journalists, particularly female journalists.

At least 42 journalists were killed this year, the organization reported, and though that’s fewer than last year — and much lower than the average of 70 journalists killed yearly between 2012 and 2015 — 19% were women,

Technically accurate because female deaths were up slightly but presented dishonestly. LINK

she has to be believed without question. Women can now ruin a man's life and there are no repercussions for her making false allegations.

This is what pisses me off more than anything. Have already seen it happen to people I know.....and for what....to be all false and the law says "oops sorry for ruining your reputation and future career path...carry on now with nothing of value given back"

So...are they calling for that number to be 50/50 to fix inequality?

Give them 5 years when no one pays attention to all their publicity stunts to get attention. Those tight yoga pants to get you to look, and then tell you that you mind raped them and you're going to jail, or you made them feel uncomfortable by checking them out bc they actually looked good, IT'S CRAZY. Dress like a slut and wonder why people checking them out???????

I like how they think a curfew would stop rapist from wanting to rape.

Rape is already illegal dipshits

Anybody ever been in the presence of a heavy 40-50 year old single woman? Talk about feeling uncomfortable. They’re worse than any man I’ve ever been around. What are we gonna do about those?

My wife has had a couple of scary run ins while marathon training at a nearby park, during the day. As much as I'd like to say these women are being ridiculous, I do ask that my wife carry pepper spray when on these long runs.

Her most recent story was she was being catcalled when running through a rather secluded part of this paved trail in the park. He kept yelling stuff about how nice her arse was and making kissing noises. The issue is that he was hiding, so she could not see him. It freaked her out pretty good. Probably a homeless guy.

Another story is that a chick taking her and I home in a Lyft this past Saturday stopped driving for them for a while because she had a shitty experience. Address guy had her go to was in an empty industrial parking lot, late as hell, and he was inebriated. Eventually he changed locations and it was some sketchy motel, no one else around. He tried for many minutes to get her to come inside, and wouldn't get out of her car. She eventually started calling the police and he got out and went inside, cussing at her.

Just saying. I hear stuff like that and really do think, damn, I never worry about shite like that.

I'm going out on a limb here, I know...but I think the idea was to just generate some conversation. Not to be taken literally.

I don't think yoga pants = dressing like a slut. But I do agree that if you don't want guys checking you out, like tits or something, then don't wear something that has your tits popping out.

What conversation would that be? That rape is bad? Does that really need a new conversation?

probably just letting people know that many women are scared when out alone at night. By reading this thread, it seems many have somehow not known this already.

but to answer your question, yes. We should probably revisit things like "rape is bad" often. What does it hurt?
