Seceded from the union? For historians. History is something that’s new to me but I’m beginning to become more interested. What are the prevailing views?

If the South would've won we'd a had it made,
I'd prob'ly run for President of the Southern State.
The day Elvis passed away would be our national holiday,
If the South would a won we'd had a it made.
I'd make my Supreme Court down in Texas,
And we wouldn't have no killers gettin'off free.
If they were proven guilty, then they would swing quickly,
Instead of writin' books and smilin' on T.V.
We'd all learn Cajun cookin in Louisiana,
And I'd put that capitol back in Alabama.
We'd put Florida on the right track 'cause, we'd take Miami back,
And throw all them pushers in the slammer.
If the South would've won we'd a had it made,
I'd prolly run for President of the Southern States.
The day young Skynyrd died we'd show our Southern Pride,
If the…

More than likely you would have had two distinct and independent nations on this continent who would have been constantly at war with each other.

They made a documentary about this

Don't watch if you're easily triggered though.
It's actually a comedy movie but is insightful, but highly offensive

You would have two profoundly different nations.

One would be a Puritan and mercantile utopia, with a powerful centralized bureaucracy. Decisions would be made in Washington, and not in the constituent states.

The other would be a more agrarian society, that was distrustful of such concentrations of power. This state would continue to lag behind its northern neighbor economically.

Lincoln would have sent federal troops to preserve the Union. The North would have an advantage in industry and manpower while the South would have home field advantage. That would prolong the war, and Lincoln would most likely have made it about slavery at some point to claim the moral high ground.

If the CSA had won, there would be a completely different human population on earth. A completely different history, too. Different wars across earth. Probably no holocaust. Certainly none of the posters on TD would exist.

I just don’t see it going down like this... Using black people as political pawns? That would never happen.
