What will the perception of coronavirus be in the future?

Will people realize it was ridiculously overblown? Will people claim that they knew all along it really was no big deal?
Or will the perception be that the media attention, business closures, social distancing, etc is why the death toll didn’t reach the millions?

Lot of people died because no one took it seriously, maybe next time something like this happens people will listen

You do not know we will have a vaccine later this year
Vaccines can take years, and there are some diseases out there that we still don’t have a vaccine for, even though we have been working for decades to get one

Seriously, with sports being cancelled, the economy taking an epic nosedive, and school and work being closed, I think it’ll be impossible to forget coronavirus. It’s not something like swine flu that really had no affect on most people’s lives.

Oo like the flu??? If we are simply talking number dead, it will pale in comparison to flu deaths.
The mortality rate will also drop to that of the flu before all is said and done.

I’m already seeing a narrative that these precautions are what’s going to prevent the death toll from reaching the millions.
I think that’s what a lot of liberals are going to claim, rather than acknowledging coronavirus was overblown.

We'll see. Death toll wise, there are a number of flood/tsunami/typhoon incidents with 200K+ death figures. Worldwide we'll probably exceed many, but I'm not sure about all of them (some are 500k+ I think)

I hope all of you that keep saying this bookmark all these posts. The number of cases confirmed is going to sky rocket in Louisiana over the next week as all the people currently in the hospital on vents are confirmed positive. Then all of you will eh freaking out asking how this happened and why wasn’t something done.

Yeah, they locked in that narrative weeks ago.
Also, I think politicians are doing politician things and prepping everybody for a months long slog so when this opens up in a few weeks, they can also play the "See...everything works out when you do what we say without question at all times!"
Trump, to his credit or detriment (depending on your point of view) seems to be the only one willing to push his chips to the center of the table and end up either looking like the voice of reason or a real a-hole, pending what happens over the next three weeks.

I think liberals realize at the back of their heads that it’s mathematically impossible for coronavirus to kill 5% as many people as the media insist it will. But, at the same time, they’re not willing to acknowledge that Trump was correct to argue coronavirus was no big deal.
So they come up with the narrative that the precautions will keep the deaths way down. It’s basically prepping ahead of time, since they actually realize the deaths won’t be that high.

I can only hope that this is the reaction. Because if so, it will mean the next few months have gone about as well as they could have.
If you aren't in New Orleans, Seattle, or New York it is very easy to brush this off.
