I don't think offices are going anywhere; humans are social creatures. While I really enjoy working from home and not even having to wear clothes if I don't want to I've found that I WANT to be back in the office, at least some of the time, just to see my coworkers. I miss the interaction with them, even the annoying ones.

Uncle in commercial in Nola says his business is down over 80%. Law firms and banks doing all their work from home. Downtown Nola fricked beyond belief.

I did the hybrid schedule for a few months which was probably ideal for me. I got sent back home full time about 2 weeks ago. Rona outbreak in the office.

Not everyone loves working from home exclusively. Sometimes you just need to focus without distractions. I think a balance of home and office is best.

The company I work for owns over 400 buildings in our footprint. They are actively looking at “future of work” with a focus on work from home and being able to offload as much building related O&M as possible.
I imagine that’s taking place at corporations across the country.

Hopefully they can do this along with low / mid income housing and other things to help with the sharp increases in houses / rentals.

Maybe some fields will be able to go to 100% WFH but most will still have some need for office space.

Still will be a need for many offices. Excess capacity in desirable urban areas will be converted to mixed use housing with high end luxury apartments and a percentage of affordable housing. Think Hibernia Bldg and similar in downtown NOLA.

I'm an introvert by a fair amount and so did I to a certain degree.
I will admit that I love working from home on Monday. Shittiest day of the week and not having to deal with anyone face to face is awesome.
