No job is truly safe from AI

What people don't understand is that the AI we get to play with now (like ChatGPT) is only a fraction of its current capability. I'm on the tail end of my white collar career so I'm not too concerned about myself, but I worry greatly what the work force is going to look like for my son. It was pressure enough with immigration and outsourcing and overall globalization, now toss AI into the mix, I don't see how any of this ends positively.

Let's let AI cure cancer first, to prove itself, then we can talk about letting it take over the global economy.

Do you know what accountants do? Do you know how much tech and "AI" already do for us as accountants?

AI services and organizations will yield a ton of white collar jobs for a while before things really taper off.

Government worker. Pretty much all of them.

I think I actually prefer the genuine incompetence and wastefulness versus trusting AI designed by Google or China.

It’s really sad how yall bash healthcare heroes when they worked so hard on the front lines during the pandemic

Healthcare administration is the beating heart of medicine keeping the whole thing running

At the bookkeeping, A/R, and A/P levels, absolutely. Not in the upper rungs. Not much keying and calculating up there. And even analysis that AI would perform has to be reviewed

So if I understand the OP correctly, we want the thing that created this:

to do jobs for us that require any level of competence?

How about plant operators? They sit on their asses all day watching Netflix and eating chips and candy.
