Yeah, the German army went from:

To this. Much more functional.

I had 2 pairs. The ones that were so spit shined they looked like the dress shoes and the comfortable ones broken in for the field. My BDUs were the same. I had ones that I melted fishing twine down the creases, the pleats on the cargo pockets were glued down, and they were ironed and starched till the could stand on their own then I had the cook whites for the field.

I miss those days. The Army lost discipline when they went to to the wash and wear ACUs.

I wish the US had a company like Hugo Boss to design uniforms.
We have Brooks Brothers...

Also something like 19 Presidents have worn BB on their Inauguration.

I thought nobody liked the whites?

Colonel Jessup had an opinion on those uniforms.

Hey, those guys are working 18-hour days preparing for threats like the incel, Pepe the Frog, and practitioners of Santeria. National defense isn't all about looking pretty!

I was in from 89-92. I wore jungle boots all the time. They were awesome, actually I may still have them somewhere.

As far as uniforms go,I had zero complaints with the BDU’s. They were completely functional, had a summer and winter version and looked good ironed.

I use my old ones for hunting clothes, but the trousers don't fit any more. Same for my desert cammies.

My issues desert Cammies were destroyed. They didn’t want us coming back looking like heathens so they issued us one new set of DCU’s to come back in. They didn’t have my size so I got a XXL camo top. It was like a tent on me then but fits me now. I still have it.
