I’ve worked on the edge of layoffs for years. I figure I’d like to cook in a small business while I figure out the next move. It’s stressful but cathartic, hopefully a better job would come.

I wanted to be some sort of Physician as a kid because I thought that was the best paying job, then I decided that I didn’t want to go to school for that long so I decided I wanted to be a Pharmacist. I also decided that was too much school, so I went into the business side of healthcare and ultimately ended up in the IS side. I’m happy with how my career has turned out thus far (in regards to flexibility and pay).
It’s not a dream job by any stretch, but I don’t think I have a dream job. I don’t enjoy work and don’t think I ever will. If it was fun or enjoyable my employer wouldn’t have to pay me to do it.
