Some kid stole a phone from church and used it for a bomb threat when I was in highschool. We were outside for hours in late summer sun and humidity because this frick didn't want to take a test.

When I was in elementary school, Friday was soda day for the 6th graders.
You could bring a quarter, go to the teachers lounge during recess and buy a bottled soda. Coca-Cola, Sprite and Orange Fanta were the choices. Coke didn't exist. It was a coca cola. Diet coke didn't exist. It was Tab. No one ever bought a Tab. These were glass recyclable bottles. Got a nickel back when you were finished.
We waited 5 years to be able to do that and it was glorious.

The weird sports and games we would just make up on the spot and get super competitive about. I remember there was this thing on the playground that was essentially a 8ish’ post with a bucket on top and then 4 holes on each side of it. we’d throw a playground ball up and into it and have people positioned at each place it could come out. If you didn’t make it in you were out and if you couldn’t catch it if it came out your hole and shoot it back in in one motion you were out. This was something we played a ton as a kid and I hadn’t thought about it in probabaly 15+ years until this thread came up. It’s crazy how much of your own life you forget until it’s actively brought up again.

That day when the books that you ordered arrived but you totally forgot about them because you'd put your book order in around September and they'd show up in April and you'd be so excited but when your mom would be out shopping with you and would ask you if you wanted to get a book you'd be all, "WTF Mom?"

Each Friday in elementary school in the mid 70’s , for a dime they would sell old fashioned candy sticks and we would lose our minds like we won the lotto buying their candy. I’d buy ten and I was absolutely convinced I made the best flavor choices. No way Timmy or Billy were gonna get a flavor edge on little Pimp. That was unthinkable.

When the handouts with the purple ink were hot off the presses and we'd immediately huff the shite out of them. That smell was so awesome.
