Read freak o nomics . Roe v wade law was enacted 1972 . Count 25 years and lots of criminals that would have otherwise been born, we’re aborted…. Not saying that’s the reason but it’s awefully uncanny that the crime rate dropped nationwide all at the same time.
There have been numerous studies refuting that hypothesis.

Family lived there in 1994. Wouldn’t lock their car doors at night because people were going to break in your car regardless.

Couldn’t tell you. In ‘82 I beat the fk out of a 40something that decided stomping the hand of a 16 year old over a set of beads I couldn’t have give a shite about. Ended up face down, cuffed, brought to jail. Fk that place, the Gulf can’t t as me it soon enough

After Katrina everyone was evacuated and it was the safest New Orleans had been in years. Gradually it has gotten back to being as dangerous as it was before Katrina.

Yep.
Section 8 does that.
It's like that everywhere.
Every metro area.

Just remember that liberals want subsidized housing in your family neighborhoods now.

‘93 til ‘96 were crazy times growing up in the East. Lots of great families and fun times mixed in with everyone running inside as soon as the street lights came on. Didn’t see any shootings on my block or the blocks on either side of my house but was close enough to hear volleys of gunshots on a nightly basis. Somehow looking back on it now, I still felt safer than I do now in the city. Never saw my dad carry in our cars like I do now daily.

O. Perry Walker class of ‘94 here.
Murders were largely confined to the projects back then. And it really wasn’t a gang problem. NOLA never had real organized gangs like in other places, it was more turf wars based on projects or neighborhoods.
I spent a lot of time in the St. Thomas in ‘98-‘99. Saw some crazy stuff.

In 1994 I was a young teen living in mid city. I took the public bus to school, walked to Winn dixie, my brother and I rode bikes in city park. I would have never thought the crime was that bad.
Crime was in the projects and at night in the ‘bad’ parts.
There were a few shootings at the daiquiri shop on bienville and Carrollton - but they were late night and we were never over there at that time. The criminals didn’t let off rounds and rounds of bullets at that time.
It was a great time.

Pennington showed how (relatively) easy it is to break. Cannizzaro presided over the lowest murder rate in 5 decades. This is really not difficult. Just have to ignore carpet baggers.
