Here we go with this BS
Dogs shouldn’t get some free pass because it’s a pet
Regardless of the situation, if a dog poses a threat to your loved ones, you should get rid of it
Jeapordizing the safety of children strictly for the sake of being a “responsible dog owner” is ridiculous
The OP can get another dog

I have no tolerance at all for aggressive pets...ignore it and at the very least, end up costing you a bundle of cash in attorney or hospital fees.
.22 bullets are cheap and once again readily available. If you don't have the nads for that, load him up and bring him to a regular shelter that will euthanize him in a week or so if not adopted.

You have to interact with dogs, especially when they are puppies, as much as possible and let them know who is in charge.
Have your kids done anything to him at some point? I know kids like to grab on puppies, they could horse play around the dog and if it is a puppy, make it not feel safe.
Dogs don't just all of a sudden attack it's owners when they get too close to them. It's a shepherd, which are usually calm, smart and protective. More than likely, something happened to the dog to make him act that way.

I actually got into it with him a couple of times and beat him. He won't back down

Kill it

Why in hell haven't you killed that POS?? Don't be an idiot.

We put it up for Aussie rescue but I'm worried its too aggressive to palm off on someone else.
Please don't do this

This is a mini aussie shepherd Jimmy, not a Pitt bull. At least it is protecting the kids and not ripping them to shreds.

I think he is secretly hoping it kills his wife.

We got him when he was 6 months old, I suspect there was an issue with the prior owner not socializing him properly when we bought him.

Aussie, lab, German shepard, Rottweiler, catahoula cur, etc.
The breed is irrelevant

Before you shoot a 12 lb dog from here to hammond give it a chance baw

When you say putting it up for rescue, did you contact an Aussie rescue in your area? That is a very popular breed, so there are a lot of Aussie breed rescue groups that will foster and determine a good fit for that dog. They will have people who can foster aggressive dogs. Contact them (look for a Facebook group is easiest way to find them) to see if they can take your dog before you put it down or drop it off at a shelter.

There are laws about animal treatment and discharging firearms in city limits. If you have to put the animal down then shooting it is about the dumbest thing you can do.

A chance to do what? Permanently scar his child's face? No thanks. Shoot that mf in the head.
I'll do it for you if you can't, OP

Shoot it. My Aunt had a real aggressive dog that for some reason she kept over at my Grandmothers. One day it turned on my Grandmother she was able to get away from it without being seriously injured but the next day when my Dad heard about it he went over to my grandmothers and shot it between the eyes.

We put our german shepherd down, I just couldn't take the chance of him getting a hold of a kid that might walk through our yard. It's not something I ever want to have to do again.

I grab a dog by the neck, choke him, kick the shite out of him

Some are joking about killing it, but that's seriously the only option here.

How ironic.
