What temp do you guys prefer and does it differ greatly from your wife or girlfriend?

I like 72 and my wife likes 78. I am hot all the time and she is freezing. I sweat at 78. Wife thought I had thyroid issues but I had my thyroid levels checked and they are normal. At home it is a constant battle. Driving it is not so bad due to dual climate control, air condition seats, and heated seats. At night time is the real issue. I can not sleep if I am too hot but we comprise with fans and put the temp at 75.

She can put more clothes/covers on to deal with the 72 degrees.

I prefer 69, she likes it 75.

However, the older you get the less cold you can handle because your metabolism slows down with your thyroid function. If you are young and you can’t handle the cold, get your thyroid checked.

I melt at 73. I live up north now so I think my body has adjusted to the cold. The wife and I are usually agreeable to the temp.

I think she is the one who needs to get checked. Also, she can put in more clothes. She is probably iron insufficient.

I have a comfort zone between 60 and 85 which works out well because it is never an issue for me.

I had two college roommates who were the extremes. All night, one or the other would wake up and change the thermostat. With the temperature difference there should have been thunderstorms. They actually woke up at the same time once and got in a fight in the hallway.

I have learned to marry someone who has the same temperature preference as me. I like 74-75 in the day and 72 at night.

Every house is different though. 74 where I live has felt like 70 in other places.

This is my setup. The transition from 72 to 74 on a hot, humid day can leave the house feeling a uncomfortable though.

I don’t have AC so I keep my windows open all day. It gets into the upper 40s and low 50s at night so it’s okay.
