Cologne Cathedral,
I have been to Cologne a lot for work and this place always amazes me. I always run down the Rhein and end up here in complete awe. Kudos to the allies for not bombing it.

Holy shite this. One of the best moments I’ve ever had while skiing.

The Colosseum in Rome. Still standing after 2000 years. To look down on it and imagine the shite that went down in there was awesome.
Unfortunately when I was there, they were renovating a large portion of the structure and the arena, so I didn't get to visit all of it.
The Parthenon in Athens is a close 2nd.

Sunset overlooking the military cemetery outside of Pt Lomo in San Diego. Surreal

Height of depression.
Prior to union protections. Round the clock, long shifts.

The American Cemetery at Omaha Beach in Normandy.
The sight of the thousands of tombs of young men who sacrificed their lives there was unexpectedly emotional and incredibly humbling.

I agree. Was a bit underwhelmed and even stayed to see the night show and the lighting coming on.
I love Mount Rushmore. The fireworks shooting from over the top of their heads for July 4th (was actually on July 3) was the best fireworks setting I've ever seen. Awesome.

The only man made structure that truly awed me was La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
As far as nature it’s too many to even begin to mention.

The Tomb of the Unknowns in DC always floors me. To think that as I type this, there is a sentinel guarding those graves is incredibly moving.
My dad and I walked the Vietnam Memorial at night on a visit last year. I forgot it was a few days after Veteran's Day. There were letters, helmets, gifts, bottles of liquor, photos, etc. lining every step of the walk. Like you said, it was so unexpectedly humbling - Let's just say I'm glad it was dark.
As far as other things that left me in awe:
The Sistine Chapel - far and away the most incredible thing I've ever seen. The entire time I was in there I couldn't stop thinking "How did a human being do this?" I couldn't wrap my mind around it. It was beautiful.
The Colisseum
The Pantheon
The Archives in DC
The Jefferson Memorial at night
Alaskan wilderness/Denali national park (sadly never got a great look at the mountain as I was too close to it to see through the clouds, which is pretty amazing in and of itself.)

Grand Canyon, hands down.
I’ve seen the Eiffel Tower, churches and Big Ben in Londen, and have been all over D.C....nothing beats the first time I saw the Grand Canyon. It’s expansiveness was something I just couldn’t fathom, with pictures doing it zero justice.
