If you come out of dental school right now and just go work at a clinic (or even at the prison), you're pretty much guaranteed to start out around the $100K mark. It's hard not to make money in dentistry.

My boss sold his pharmaceutical company few year back. He pocketed about 1.5 billion in cash. He still drives his Honda to work, and he donated lots of money to charity.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning how he runs his practice, and I ran mine very differently. I'm simply saying there are guys out there making that kind of money. Some of them end up in jail.
