I know, I know. Put down the pipe. But serious question.

In college we study Hobbes and Rousseau and Locke and Descartes. They lived hundreds of years ago, but their thinking still permeates our law and culture.

Who is writing today whose work will endure?

I am an optimist about people (like Rousseau), so I am expecting a lot out of you baws! But I am also a realist and foresee a lot of bullshite.

Anybody?

Maybe we should start by identifying real philosophers in 2025.

Carlin is the Nostradamus of this century. He predicted the "idiots with shitty jobs" almost 40 years ago.

He may be an actual contender, but perhaps more as a messiah figure.

This woman's important work will be considered the top of the great philosopher pyramid at Ivy League universities in just 50 years.
