Truth in this post. Once a women convinces herself it is okay, then actually doing it is nothing but a formality. They cheated long before they get railed. The actual cheating is in the mind for women. That is also why they will accuse a man of cheating long before physical and you can be in as much hot water for just thinking about it, regardless of whether your actually do.

I'm going to say age has to factor in on the percentage. 18-30=65%, 30-40=50%, 50 and over =30%

Hall passes in 10 year increments would reduce the number to less than 5%.

I think this is true. Cheating is a process for most women who cheat. It starts with something kind of simmering that's unresolved which leads to rationalization. It's probably an indicator of a lack of communication and a lack of understanding between husband and wife. Once they accept they've been wronged, they can rationalize stepping out.

Agreed. I was absolutely floored to learn of certain people cheating. Very well-respected people, at least at one time.

Don't poor bastard me. I've seen every dirty side of that coin. I've explored every nook and cranny of that dark underbelly.

I'm telling you the ONLY hard time is the first. After that it's like slipping into old shoes.

One cheater I know...3 weeks after she was married. 3 weeks. One fight is all it took.
And it happens to ones you'd never expect.

Facebook...man that's the devil.

They have these perfect lives on display. Show off what a great wife and mother they are.

You lift the lid off that box and find out that when she took that pretty family picture she had your seed dripping down her thigh.

You can't unsee some stuff. It's like putting on the glasses in "THEY LIVE"

This line of thinking terrifies me. At what point to people forget their vows?

A study from late 2016 suggests that men are somewhat more likely to cheat than women. According to the Associated Press and the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, 22% of men say that they've cheated on their significant other at least once during their marriage, and 14% of wives admit to straying.

This research also suggests that people are most likely to have affairs with co-workers. As many as 36% of men and women say that they've had an affair with someone they work with. Somewhat surprisingly, 17% admit to having an affair with a sister-in-law or brother-in-law.

Perhaps most telling is that the maxim “once a cheater, always a cheater” appears to be founded in fact. People who have cheated before are 350% more likely to cheat again than those that haven’t.

Not sure how valid these numbers are and they just reference admitted cheaters, but somewhat interesting.
