quote:The only Parish in CENLA where civil defendants dislike juries as much as the bench, so this is absolutely false. Sure, there's plenty of fantastic people, but most all-around good? Hell no The FBI and WLF should be open 24/7 there.
Avoyelles and it's not even close.

The Rapides parish coliseum used to be a major stop on the mid-south rastlin' tour. My kind of folk right there.

What's the last thing you saw there? I think mine was Kenny Rogers.

St Tammany has the most humble and salt of the earth people.

LOL... St. Tammany has the most gruesome history than any other parish in the state. The story of "Dead man Walking" was about the murderer from St. Tammany and that's just one of many examples. Plus with Mandeville, "humble and salt of the earth" is the last thing that comes to mind.
Someone clearly missed the joke lol

No way. Morgan city is full of douchebags.

i do miss Lafourche, at times, but i think i miss the time frame of when i lived there in high school/pre-college realistically.... if i could go back to then, when i was always with my friends playing pedro, drinking, dipping, and hooking up with randoms, i'd go back in a heart beat, even though my life is really, really nice now...
loved where i grew up, though it wasn't the flashiest, nicest place, it was and always will be home...

Vermilion mentioned yet? Great Parish except for Erath!

Abbeville is a bigger knock against Vermillion than Erath IMO.

St. Bernard
AKA Da Parrish
St Bernard has some of the most amazing great people you will ever meet. Friendly people, good helping people.
We also have just as many absolute trash balls. We have to have more trash people per capita than anywhere else in the world.
We certainly have to have the highest per capital amount of smokers in the country. It's as if the whole "cigarettes are dangerous" message never got past Jackson Barracks.
We have a significant number of people who think everyday rules, laws, and common manners don't apply to them.
It is an interesting place, to be sure. It's like two different worlds co-existing.
