Has anyone ever really sat down and thought this out?

All we really are, everyone you’ve ever met, encountered, passed by, or even thought of was nothing more than a bag of bones consisting of muscle, fat, a few organs, miles of neuro-electrical and vascular circuitry and one squishy organ that’s driving it all.

That’s it. Next time you see someone pass by or driving the car next to you. That’s all they are. Weird.

In addition. How crazy to think that we are where we are in the evolution of mankind all because of the one brain of everyone who has come before us. That one organ based its reasoning and thought process off of all of the brains it has interacted with in the past. From that our ancestors have shaped the lives as we know it.

Take that away, and we are nothing. Nothing at alld which is pretty much what we already are (in the grand scheme of things). Just a pixel in the collection that make up the world in the universe it sits in.

I ask this follow up question…do we really have as much control as we think we do?

What a wild ride my baws. Don’t waste it.

You need to ask your mommy or daddy to explain this to you.

Well, when a mommy and a daddy really, really love each other, the mommy will lay down, or maybe bend over, and…

That’s nihilism. By definition. I’m just stating a fact. It’s the thought most of us have at age 12 before we study philosophy, spirituality etc. You are making the case for nihilism and I am acknowledging it . Don’t take it personally. We can still be baws, lol.

A human is one that has control over their animal instincts. Many of our race do not qualify

It depends on which direction you scale your perception. You seem to be scaling up, comparing us against the grand scale of the collective universe. And yes, in that scale, we are exceedingly small.

But conversely, you could instead scale down, through the billions to trillions of microorganisms that make up our collective bodies, all the way down to the virtually infinite number of quarks sparking continuously through every single spec of our existence.

Personally, I find it profoundly meaningful that we are uniquely qualified amongst all life in known existence to be able to even conceive of both our astoundingly small and astoundingly grand scale within the collective nature of the universe. The uniqueness of that positioning, with all the responsibilities and implications that come with it, leads me to believe that we are very likely to be more than just meat bags and pixels.

No. Nihilism (by definition) is skepticism in a meaning to life or the world. I fully believe life has meaning and I am spiritual (to a degree).

It’s not unrealistic however to realize that a meaningful life is comprised of a mostly simplistic system.

The two ways of thinking can coexist

The government doesn't even know the difference between a man and a woman so don't ask them that question.

How can someone not be somewhat spiritual? Sorry but I can't believe that I started as some floating space gasses and two rocks banged together causing an explosion and then a fish crawled onto land from water and started walking. Or whatever scenario people come up with to get around the concept of some form of higher being.

There had to be something that started life. But I don't think on it too hard because it makes my head hurt. Too early for this shite on Saturday.
