Gulfport shouldn’t have been under a curfew

Assault is generally placing someone in fear of great bodily harm or injury. Battery is the actual touching in some manner. Looks like both may have occurred on camera. Guy was also violating probation from Ohio.

free from any scrutiny.
that wasn’t scrutiny. That was an assault by an unhinged moron. The news person may be an unhinged moron too, but somebody needs to break the damn cycle of idiocy in this country

Dude is an idiot. Borderline psychotic.

And I do not care in the least bit.

We abandoned any degree of pretense of civility in 2020.

He's a dumbass. I seriously doubt the jail time will bother him though. People like that are institutionalized anyway.

The left forced everyone to choose sides and this thread is a great example of their endless hypocrisy.

Assault: intentionally putting another person in reasonable apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact

As long as the reporter has a reasonable apprehension (using a reasonable person standard) and the harmful or offensive contact would or could be imminent, it’s assault.

Looks like assault to me by a legal standard.

God forbid the news report about the weather during a goddamn hurricane. Trump really rotted y'alls brains that bad huh?

You mean the news reports about the weather where news people are lying about the situation they are in? Where Jim Cantore is wearing stupid helmets and goggles while people stroll casually behind them in flipflops? Or where Anderson Cooper finds a low spot to stand in waste-deep water while their camera crews stand almost dry?

It's fricking lying. They lie every day about everything. And you are complicit. Full stop. They are gaslighting us. Why do you defend these people???

“As a matter of fact, if you look at the words that I used, the strongest thing I said was tell them they’re not welcome,” Waters said. “[I said] Talk to them. Tell them they’re not welcome. I didn’t say go and fight. I didn’t say anybody was going to have any violence. And so they can’t make that stick.”

However, in 2018, after then-Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and former press secretary Sarah Sanders were confronted with their families in public over family separation at the border, Waters encouraged more of the same.

“They’re not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they’re not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they’re not going to be able to shop at a department store,” Maxine Waters said.
