I just started going to a barber, he does a good job. I used to either get my MIL to cut it, or one of my wife's cousins, but I'd basically just get them to trim it with scissors.

Salon. Person I go to is the best and we finally nailed down the lingo to understand each other. I told somebody else to give me a point cut before and they were like "WTF is that?" I left.

I do need to find a backup though. I think someone who does military haircuts would be a good choice.

Jonpaul's Salon and Spa for Men. They hire master barbers, have two massage therapists, and offer free drinks (beer, wine, liquor, water, soda, etc) for as long as you are there. They give you healthy pours of bourbon too, not that measured out crap. If I finish one during my hour-long haircut, then they pour me another. The haircut includes two massaging shampoos, a shoulder and neck massage, a face massage, and a hot towel face wrap.

when i was a kid, i used to go to Kenny's off of Kaliste Saloom

lady that did my hair was Lisa Turk. My dad an I would see George Rodrigue in there pretty regularly since she cut his hair too.

while he was getting his hair cut, he would always work on a doodle and give it to her when he paid his bill

i really hope Ms. Lisa held on to all those doodles. they would be worth a pretty penny now.

Barbershop. Has a bit of an upscale feel to it, but it's not expensive. Same barber for last 4 years and he is really skilled. Sometimes opt for all scissor cut, sometimes use clippers.

$22 haircut includes warm lather straight razor shave of neck and side burns. +5 tip comes out to a total of $27. It's SO much better than the Great Clips type places were you may spend $5 less.

Online scheduling means you ALWAYS walk right in to the barber you choose, no waiting.

Can spring for a full straight razor shave for another $25. It's awesome but not something I'm going to do very often.

Haircut is something I kind of look forward to now, use to dread it.

Barber shop.

If I go to a gal who went to a salon or beauty school, my hair looks great the second she is done, but within two days, after it grows out, it looks like shite.

Barbers learn to cut hair different, and this is the way I like my hair cut.

I go to a nice salon. Not too many dudes there. I wanted a place that was well-regarded by women because they're more particular about their hair than most dudes. It's expensive but I'm OCD about my hair.

Ditto.

I cut my own hair, it gives me a chance to check out my head to make sure there are no problems.
