weirdest thing I've seen is a woman trying to bring her dead mother on board in a hanging bag(bag in a bag?) in Port Au Prince

One thing that’s possible is to ask a stewardess to put the guitar in their storage compartment. I’ve never had an issue when traveling with my guitar and they’re always happy to help.

Some guitars are worth enough to merit taking up a couple of spots in the overhead bin.

The kind that doesn't want his guitar destroyed by baggage handlers.

This. I get it, but there's nothing wrong with having nice equipment that you might need when you travel, and certainly nothing wrong with being suspicious of the famously professional baggage handlers.

You must not fly in and out of Nashville very much

They usually are here, at least.

I’ve been to Nashville a lot, but I’ve never been to the airport. Phoenix to Denver flight today. Just landed.

Well this is a regular occurrence.

A lot of people gate check them too, as if the airline employees are more gentle with it that way. I guess I could see that.

One time I was on a Southwest flight from Nashville to New Orleans and sat 1 seat over from this guy from Treme and GoT. Some little chica he was with sat between us. He had a guitar AND a keyboard, but gate checked them.

Super hipster IRL fwiw. Must've had to roll on his skinny jeans like a condom and had a full on Pharrell type hat.

Again, it’s allowed by the airline so your opinion is worthless unless you become CEO and change the policy.

No joke. Every other person is carrying one through the terminals in Nashville.

unless you're going to a gig or going to a recording session, there's probably no need to travel with something like that, I've some cheaper guitars that I take whenever I'm working on something, but then again, I get to put them up front

I never said you couldn’t. I just said it was worthless. There’s a difference.
