If my G550 and backup 450 are both oddly out for servicing when I need to fly, and I have to go commercial, I just buy a new Taylor or Martin for delivery to my hotel room. Problem solved.

Yes, lots of them. Guitars are far more fragile than your clothes, i feel like I would expect a guitar to be broken or damaged in some fashion if checked.
