Facebook was awesome when it was just young people.

Now its crazy people politics, bored housewives, and grandmothers.

I still have mine, but everything is super private, and I haven't looked at it in maybe 3 years other than check out a couple groups I'm in that buy and sell concert tickets.

This. I'm one month Facebook sober and it's great.

Sober is the perfect term for it. I used to do a cleans during Lent. Then, last year, I just never turned it back on. I finally deleted it in the summer.

I've seen some rumblings that the whole thing is just a ploy to work on facial recognition software.

Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering all the pictures were already on FB.

Doesn't it take FB something like 3 months to actually delete the account? Don't log back in or it resets the clock.

It told me it would just deactivate it for 14 days and I could log back in to restore my account during that time frame. They definitely try to make it hard to delete your account.

I think that happened in August 2005.

either you have an incredible memory, or you just Googled that

either way, I found it interesting that all my pre-2006 stuff was gone

which is probably a good thing considering those were my college years

Oh man, the amount of girls filtered pics are comical.

Very few of them used pics of what they actually look like and it shows.
