For a toothache until you can get an appointment?

Not sure. But I know what your [insert SO’s name] puts in their mouth to deal with it.
But seriously. Take an ibuprofen and find some crushed ice.

Depending on how bad it is Ibuprofen. 4-200mg is the equivalent of prescription strength although I wouldn't take that much for very long.
Years ago when I had some major wisdom tooth pain this is all that helped me.

Ice and/or that numb gum stuff at the pharmacy.
Or, whiskey.

Clove oil. Get at Whole Foods. Put on spot that hurts. Numbs like novacaine. Make sure you only put on tooth. Tastes horrible. Works great though.

Clove oil works pretty good. Taste bad, but it does a good job at numbing the pain. Agree with the Motrin as that will help reduce any swelling.

This is why you hoard opioids whenever you can. You never know when you may have a pain emergency.
I had some left over from a surgery that I kept, got me through a rough weekend with strep.

An edible. It might not really stop the hurting, but you will not care about it as much.
I googled numbing agents and this looks like it could help.
