I've seen that the gentrification process is fueled by young professionals more than hipsters

My thing that I always bring up is that people in these neighborhoods don't have to sell their houses. They are offered 5x more than they paid for it and jump at the chance, as would I probably.

Interesting. Where I live it's mostly the young professionals gentrifying what were once poor neighborhoods.

Thank you Louisiana Movie Tax credits for fueling this massive influx of affluent workers into the the City of NOLA. The gentrification boom is largely fueled by Hollywood South and the movies that are being filmed down here.

That makes sense. There isn't as much diversity around here, so I guess most of these neighborhoods skip that step and go straight to the young professionals.

Its a good thing for New Orleans tax base but thats about it.
New Orleans, because its a City, will always have crime. Like all other Cities.
For those that think that because New Orleans charges more they are getting better services and/or from the above standpoint are any better off they are sadly mistaken.
There is still a fair amount of folks leaving new orleans because of the eventual realization that the costs of living there are not reflective in the service.

I know this is a tattoo subject but I think its a bad thing. I mean Alvin Gentry just got to the city. Why should he have a say so over someone who's been livn here for 10 years?
