I'm gradating from SELU in business in a week or two. The business school is actually pretty good, glad I did this instead of UNO or ULL, my other options as the time. Hammond is kind of shitty, but I commute from BR anyway.
If you're doing business or education, SELU is one of the better schools in state for both.

That is why you think Hammond is shitty. Hammond has a fun night life if you get live in Hammond and make friends. Odds are you probably still hang out with all of your high school friends every weekend in walker/denham/ BR and that is why you think Hammond is shite.

Southeastern is for teachers, band directors, and nurses. There's really no other reason to go there. It's a commuter school that doesn't really offer much in the ways of nightlife, campus activities, or athletics.
ULL is great. They have several great programs, especially in oil technology, computer science, ect. Lafayette has great nightlife. The Cajun Dome is a fantastic music and sports venue. If you can't get into LSU and you can't afford a private or out of state education, ULL is the next best thing.

Dead wrong. Southeastern is a great school for your non-generic business degrees. I just graduated in Accounting in December and was offered a job by a large firm almost a year before graduating. The firm I work for does not recruit out of ULL so that kind of tells me something. I was greek there and really enjoyed my time. ULL is more like a cult of a-holes that think they are better than everyone at everything (ex. the post im quoting). SELU is a great smaller sized school.

So which student fricked your girlfriend and then stole your lunch money?

Don't do it. Just do agribusiness at LSU.
It's a business degree in the school of Ag. Thats what I did, and I was in the same situation as you.

The dude can't even manage a 2.0, wants to hang out with his high school buddies, and is asking how hot the girls are at different schools. His hopes and dreams are to be a history teacher, a cop, or a movie writer?
None of this going to college advice means anything to him. He won't get anything out of it, and will continue on the same path. Really needs to take a step back and look at himself. College is a waste of money at that point

SELU has a great business school.
Anna Bass is the nicest woman I have ever met, and was more than a just a mentor to me.

I don't get all the harsh words directed at the OP. Most college students drift around trying to figure out what the want to do for the rest of their life. Although I knew exactly what I wanted to study and what school to attend from the time I was in middle school, I have five daughters and all of them took a while to zero in on a major and career goal. Your only spend 4-5 years in a typical undergrad program but about 40 years in the workforce. I see no problem (other than the extra cost) in taking a little extra time to figure things out. I have urged all our kids to obtain a well-rounded undergrad degree then head off to grad school to specialize...seems to have worked well for all concerned, although my retirement fund is less than it otherwise could be had they all just raced through school.
To the OP, it sounds like you are finally getting your head on straight. Do not be discouraged. BTW, I have lectured at both ULL and SELU numerous times and found both to have great environments, excellent faculty and motivated students. Good luck!

The point is not to dance around and bullshite while you are in college. You're just wasting time. You need to figure that out before you start school from previous job or life experiences. Yeah, maybe changing majors from a useless one to a better one is good, but not bouncing around trying to find an easier school and an easier major just because you think it will be more fun

I graduated from UL (Hammond) in bidness.
It helped my job prospects immediately, and those got even better after I got my MBA (from Mississippi State).
That said, I had a few years of grown up work experience before all of this occurred.
In summation - Go to ULH, get yo bidness on, and have a buffalo chicken sandwich from Mariner's Inn while you're there.

You get out of hammond whatever you put into it. If you commute, it sucks, but living here is awesome. Everything is 10 minutes away and theres some really fun places out here.
Ill take a night out in hammond over Tigerland any day of the week.
