What is your most interesting event witnessed on live TV?

Spin off, kind of.
The poster who started the Virginia TV shooting posted immediately after watching it live. Obviously tragic but that's a hell of a moment available to a relative few.
...(edit) I guess everyone's is 9/11 most likely, but define "interesting" however you want: historical, influential, poignant, or just plain weird.
I guess mine are the basics: Challenger explosion, 9/11 second tower being stuck and collapse, OJ Bronco chase, Bartmam/Cubs game.
I did I saw a wife's missing relative on TV during Katrina and in part it lead to his rescue eventually.
As far as local news I've never seen much.

9/11 in 8th grade
I'll never forget that day. Every damn detail. My history teacher had a brother in the Pentagon and he couldn't get in touch with him. Guy was a total hardass and he just broke down in class.

Besides 9/11, and I know this is going to sound pathetic and petty...but app state upset.

That was notable.
Another was OBJ's catch. I just turned the TV on 30 seconds before
Music City miracle also. I was having all you can eat Rocky Mountain oysters.

9/11
Munich Olympics in '72 when I was a kid. Hostage situation was bizarre.

9-11.
I saw the Challenger explosion live. Didn't realize it had exploded. We all thought it was the booster rockets being released. We learned the truth not soon after.

9/11 for sure. The whole hunt for the Boston bombers was mesmerizing to follow live.

OJ split screen with the NBA Finals.

Family drowning in the attic of their house while screaming for help on WWL Radio during Katrina as their house went underwater. They were on their cell phone--not TV but still very memorable to me.

That was crazy. I just watched a show on the autopsy of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. What a farcical trial but the crime scene was so corrupted.
9/11 was terrible to watch live. I'll never forget that second plane hitting the trade center.
That live tweet of those murders will stick with me for a while as I was following the thread here as it was happening.
The challenger explosion. I was in elementary school and they stopped class to show the launch.

Almost 20 years ago I saw a bank robbery gone wrong in LA, CA, where the robbers had automatic weapons and body armor and were shooting it out with the cops in the street. It was like something out of the movie Heat.
Other than 9-11, Challenger, OJ in the Bronco, Shock and Awe bombings in Iraq and the other obvious answers that's the only other one that comes to mind.
Not old enough for the moon landing.
