The Monkees have a great version of this song - it doesn’t have the electronic ding dongs as McCartney’s version. Great melody - one of my fav Christmas carols.
To address the OP the worst Christmas song is Merle Haggard’s “If We Make it
Through December”. Perhaps it’s not a traditional carol per se - but it will invoke some tears, for sure.
