1973 VW station wagon. Fine college car... if you have a winning personality

Probably this one:
1992 Mazda MX-3 (not this particular photo, but mine looked almost just like it- mine had rear mudguards similar to those in the front). First car I bought brand new from the dealership. 5 speed manual, which meant my wife couldn't drive it.
Got it up to about 120 on a desert road north of Big Bend National Park.
Had to trade it in for an SUV right before child #1 was born.

Would also recommend Rev. Horton Heat
I saw him a a month or so ago in Chattanooga.
Kinda surprised he's still around. Seems like a hundred years ago that he was a regular around the college towns. Great show in his day. But the original Dash lineup was the best.

Meant that I saw Junior in Chattanooga not long ago, haven’t heard much from Heat in a while. Original lineup was good, when they got the headbanger drummer they sort of switched gears, not sure if it was for the better.

1980 Camaro Z-28:
This was my first car. My parents told me when I turned 14 that whatever amount of money I could earn, they would match when I turned 16. Worked a couple of summers at the salvage yard, and saved my money.
I loved this car. It had a four-bolt main 350, with headers and cherry bombs. The headers made it a bitch to change out the spark plugs...
The factory Delco stereo system really sucked though, so as soon as I could save enough money, I bought and installed an Alpine with 6x9's in the back.
I owned this car for over five years, and the only work I had to do to it, other than normal maintenance (tires, brakes, tune-ups, etc...) was to replace the alternator once.
Lots of great memories with that car.

My 2002 4Runner. Still own it and it has never had one single issue. Wonderful vehicle.

1973 Plymouth Satellite 440
Mopar with a 440 hard to beat. That car looks like something Clint Eastwood would be driving in a Dirty Harry movie ! And that is intended as a compliment.
440 was not available in 1973. A 400 was as big as it got.
