For everyday, you can't go wrong with Ariat- I have 2 pair, and they were both reasonably priced (under $200) and have held up well. One pair is 3 years old, the other 5+. If you're just looking to wear something to the office everyday, go with Ariat.
My Lucchese's are only about 6 months old, and they took 2 months to get good and broken in, but they're comfortable. They're a $600 pair of boots, so I don't wear them everyday. Every time I wear them, I get tons of compliments- they really stand out, which is part of the reason I bought them.

I worked at a Cavender's throughout college for three years and by far the shittiest boot out there is Justin. The leather bottoms wear down quicker than anything I've ever seen.
If someone is looking for comfort, Ariat is the best bet.
Personally, if you're going to a store like that, I go with Larry Mahan or Tony llama. Obviously roll with the Lucchese's if you have money to blow.
I don't buy boots from stores anymore. My dad used to be a Texas Ranger (Law enforcement) and he met a guy who makes badass custom boots so that's all I that roll with now. He offers free heel and sole replacements for life also. Can't beat it.

Ariats because they aren't too expensive and have about a year shelf life (paddock boots, tall boots last longer but are only for shows) so it's not the end of the world to replace them.

Lol I have never understood the hate for the square toe, other than it being old people who just don't like change.
I have boots that are both square and round, but I prefer the square with the double stitched sole any day of the week.

Belleville 690s. Bought a new pair 3 days before USAF survival school, went to the field without really breaking 'em in. Tromped around the mountains for 5 days with a 90lb pack. Had blisters, but so did everyone. 10/10.
My Lucchese boots are nice, but the J. Chisholms fit me better.
