My favorite live performance of any song ever made.

A bunch of good ones already listed. I've always had a thing for Barbara Mandrell, who coincidentally has her birthday on Christmas. I think this is underrated.
Barbara Mandrell, "It must have been the misteltoe"

"I'll Be Home for Christmas" - written in 1943. How sad it must have been when that song was sung at USO shows during WWII.
On my Dad's third Vietnam tour, he surprised us (we lived in El Paso) at Christmas. It was a great Christmas. I was sleeping, heard Dad talking to my mom, thought it was a dream, then figured out it wasn't.
In those days, no emails ... just letters.

Christmas in Dixie by Alabama. Has caused me to buy tickets back to Atlanta more times than I care to recount. Went out of my way to avoid the song altogether between 2006 and 2020 because I knew what I was liable to do....and last minute airfare for 4 back to the US is not cheap LOL.
I heard it in December of 2020 as I was driving across Clarks Hill Lake on GA HWY 47 with a gorgeous sunset and sang along from beginning to end with nary a tear nor thought as to looking at airfare prices....I knew I was home and home for good! You can take the boy out of the south but it's damn near impossible to take the south out of the boy. Most of us who roam away from the south return someday and I have and I ain't leaving again until I reach room temperature.
By the way that is some kind of high art that can make a cynical old man not only tear up but buy $6k worth of airfare to get home for Christmas.....

Great song! I am trying to remember if we had a Christmas tree when I was growing up in Hawaii. Given that everything had to be shipped in when I was growing up, I cannot imagine my parents having access to a real Christmas tree. But, being on the Marine Base, I could also see some being delivered to the base.

A palm tree Christmas tree would be perfect for Hawaii, SoCal and Florida
