I go over to my dad's (72) house today and he has the heat on full blast. Meanwhile, it's a gorgeous 66 degrees outside. He complains that it's too cold. I couldn't stay long because the house was so hot. What the hell??

I just got back from my parents house an hour ago from the same experience.

It will happen to us all at some point.

My mother lives with us - I’ve been tempted to change out the thermostat and put it on my phone so she can’t touch it

It’s subjective brah.

69 is hot with the right woman, downright terrible with the vast majority of the rest of the planet’s folks

Can confirm that my parents and MIL both have this issue. We can't visit long because it is so hot while they complain it is still cold.

My grandparents had this thing, and the bathroom was the only room that was hot in the winter. Summer was hot as balls. Winter was cold and drafty.

I always wondered why old people’s dream retirement setting is always a place where it’s hot af but it’s starting to add up.

I walk around the house with a jacket and slippers because I hate being cold but I don’t like turning up the heat.

Then, there’s the issue of can’t seeing for shite and everyone wants to make a bunch of racket while you just want to watch a little tv.

Getting old sucks but the alternative is worse.

My great grandfather, who died before I was born, would build a roaring pine knot fire in the fireplace first thing in the morning every day of the year.
