Went to the ER for a bite or something on my thigh, it was a big bump that was very sensitive. I go in the room and the Dr did the shots around it to numb the pain, asked if I could feel as he ran the handle of his scafpel around it? I said yeah I still feel............. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bastard cut about an inch and a half down and a circle bout a little bigger than a quarter plug out of my leg before the drugs kicked in. Then he plugged it with gauze and threw a bandaid on it. Said some things to my wife and left

If I saw him today, I owe him an asswhippin

I've had broken ribs, shingles(twice), viral meningitis and a brown recluse bite that damn near rotted a finger off, but none of those can touch a full blown gout attack in a joint like a knee or elbow.

Broke my elbow and my wrist at the same time once by falling from hanging off the rim of the basketball goal at the park. I barely slept that night because my elbow hurt so bad because it wasn’t in a set cast yet.

What’s the story on this?

T4 can give you the complete story if he comes back to the thread, but here's the basic gist of how it happened:

He and a buddy (maybe two) were deer hunting. They left their stands after a morning hunt and were riding back to the camp. They spotted some hogs and bailed out to shoot them. They lost sight of each other in the brush and I believe they had removed all or most of their orange after getting out of the stands. T4's buddy saw movement in an area he thought his hunting partners weren't. He took a shot and hit T4 in the neck. I don't think there was any booze involved. It was just a frick up. Definitely a scary story.

Natural childbirth That’s a choice you made. Doesn’t count

I was out hiking in a canyon in Utah. Was not due for another three weeks. Stepped down from a rock and my water broke. Then it was on. Try laying down on rocks and giving birth. Then let me know if it was a choice I made. You would be a whimpering little turd.

When my dad was 88, he traveled 200 miles by car to attend my son's wedding. When the wedding was over, he told my older sister (who had driven him to the wedding" that he was 90% sure he broke his hip the day before and that they needed to stop at the hospital on the way home. They did, and his hip was broken. But, he didn't want to miss the wedding.

Dad is a tough old Marine (WWII, Korea and Nam vet). He's now 94 and still plays golf on occasion (and hits golf balls every day the weather is nice).

I broke 4 ribs and had a punctured lung when a car ran a red light and crashed into my truck. It was almost impossible to get into any position that didn't hurt after the accident.

camping on an island in South Florida when we were young. Front half of the island was beach on the gulf, back side of the island was trees. We used to play a game at night called "man hunt". I was running away from someone barefooted and stepped on a dead catfish at full speed. Dorsal fin went in the bottom of my foot and out the side

Dislocated hip when I was about 12. My right leg was out at a 90 degree angle to my body and turned outward.

I second that. Pretty much the same except it went through my croc into the bottom of my foot out the top and I couldn’t pull the SOB out I was praying god would take me. I remember getting light headed and dizzy from the pain. I wouldn’t wish that shite on anyone

agreed, I think I was about 14. It took 3 adults holding me down and my dad pulling it out with everything he had because we would have had to wait for daylight to then run an hour back to land to get to a hospital and it would have been infected as frick by then.

Kidney stones. You know that “carpet “ they have in the ER? I was chewing on that at 4 am. I asked God to take me or the pain. I had another attack and it embedded in my groin. I saw a dr on Monday and he operated on Wednesday. They went up through my Johnson to get the stone. Taking that first piss after surgery will have you screaming. Excessive Vitamin C caused my stones.

Gout is a distant second.

i’ve been beat to hell and back a couple times through the years. Broken bones, concussions, torn shite, etc.

the worst (most painful) is probably a tie.

Strained Cartilage in Ribcage. OH MY GOD! excruciating to do anything other than take really really small breaths.

Pulled Groin. with the caveat that this wasn’t constant pain. but if i moved the wrong way or too suddenly, the shooting pain was almost unbearable. i sometimes was able to go days without an incident. then i would do something stupid like stand up too fast and drop like a rock.

Several broken bones and a bad lower back, but by far, when the gout flares in my foot it brings tears to my eyes. This happens about twice a year now.
