re: What is the social scene like at Tulane?

I attended both LSU and Tulane but I was older at Tulane. Tulane was better because you're in a city so you can get wild in more ways than in BR. Of course being older I was also better at the whole thing. Not everyone in New Orleans is a Tulane student so being worried about the women once you're 21 is silly.
Not to mention you have the not so bright Loyola and Delgado kids

Cannot believe this hasn't been mentioned.
A lot of drugs.
Not like "haha, we smoked some weed at the frat house"; serious hard drugs.
I'm truly shocked there aren't more overdoses. I think some of the people drawn to Tulane for NOLA, are drawn for the drug scene.

Truth. Had a few friends there in med school a few years back. They did more lines of coke than Tony Montana

Fact or unfounded assumption?

Tulane obviously has a ton of rich kids and is a party school, but there's also a lot of very smart professional type people, down to earth. It's pretty culturally mixed. There's some of the best bud on earth around there. The drawback is all the elitist kids but otherwise a decent college atmosphere.

Not the best person to ask unfortunately. They ran in different circles than me

fricking freaks, or really boring, with very very little middle ground.

Are they sluttier than the ones who sale the Dead Sea mineral products at the mall?

You were always one to admire a big set of jewbies

All of tulane's stereotypes are true (aka full of NY jews). that being said, there are also kids from all other parts of the country who go to the school. I consider this Tulane's greatest strength. I went from high school, where the only people I knew who weren't from Louisiana were a couple Texans, to college and met lifelong friends from all over: Miami, Santa Cruz, Philly, Wisconsin, New Mexico New Hampshire, Connecticut. Another thing that's immediately apparent is that the kids who go to school here love it deeply. They study their asses off and reward themselves by partying just as hard. It's a pretty unique and special place in my always completely unbiased opinion.
Obviously don't go here if you're looking for a great athletic program.
Almost all of this but it's very demographically diverse. Well represented evenly across the country. That's Tulanes strength and weakness.
Party scene there is mostly bars (Boot, Quills, and Bruno's) with a mix of very notable frat parties. None of the frat houses are all that nice and they tend to not care about making a mess. Pikes Saturate was epic every year for example. Strippers, blow, a lot of alcohol. Drugs are indeed big in the city. No one goes to the French Quarter. That's for tourist and friends visiting.
By far the best social and party scene I've ever seen as a student or visitor. And I've been every where man

Is F&Ms mostly for townies who are the same age as the Tulane kids?
When it comes to fights and just general demeanor I've noticed a big difference.
Fat Harry's seems to be for the post grad SEC frat guys.

F&Ms is all college kids and local townies (both of age and underage).
Fat Harry's? I don't know. I never went there while at Tulane. Only for Mardi Gras
