Two couples I know are getting married after less than four months of knowing each other. Seems like that’s when the realness of the relationship just started to show imo. Also, was it a disaster?

Too early to say so. Time will always tell. However, statistically speaking, yes.

My ex married a state trooper 8 months after we divorced. I think it lasted a year.

I want to say I read that marriages that involve a law enforcement officer/official statistically are shorter in terms of staying married vs. non-law enforcement jobs.

He was just a bad fit, told her such. He was a triathlon guy and really enjoyed recovering dead people after disasters.

I met my late wife in June and we married in December. Lasted 48 years until she passed away.

My parents got married 9 weeks after their first date.

Next week will mark 50 years from their wedding date. Wish my dad was here to enjoy it all.

ETA: Before it gets asked, my sister was born 13 months after my parents got married.

2 couples got married at my Army training. Both still hitched. A 3rd married and split shortly after after the guy announced he was gay. The training was 16 weeks total.

I have a cousin who was widowed in September and was remarried by 12/31 of the same year… They’ve been married 16 or 17 years now.

I've learned through many mistakes that most people, and especially exes, don't want to be told anything (even in a non-confrontational way).

People usually have to go through it on their own, because many value their own opinion more than someone else's.

My grandmaw once met this man and they got married after knowing each other for two weeks. Strangely enough, it lasted the longest of her three marriages.

If one of them is a legit narcissist, it is the norm. The other one is overwhelmed with the “ love bombing” and the sex and the narcissist moves in as quickly as possible. People with normal psychological profiles tend to take it slowly because they know what’s at stake. Not to say you can’t fall madly in love in short order. I think I loved a girl the day I met her so what do I know. Sometimes you just recognize someone you just met.
