What is the proper way to feed the ducks?

Growing up in BR, it was always a source of enjoyment for MawMaw to bring the grandkids to feed the ducks at the LSU lakes. Mrs TBone grew up in BR as well and did the same. Well, when we bring little tbone to feed the ducks, she takes a slice of bread, tears the entire thing into little pieces, and throws the whole handful on the ground. I think this method is completely wrong and the only proper way to feed the ducks is to rip off one little piece from the slice and throw them slowly, 1 by 1, until you are out of bread.
What is your bread throwing philosophy?

Well at least we don't have to guess the type of residence you grew up in.

Feeding ducks bread is pointless. Very little nutrition. Essentially just filler.
But a bag of cracked corn and thrown handfuls out much to the delight of the ducks and your children.

We lived on a pond in Jax and I would feed the ducks and geese occasionally.
There was a mallard hen with about 6 ducklings that followed her every swim. I was fishing one morning and they swam towards me and they were fricking up my fishing so I walked down the bank a little further.
All of a sudden I head a THUNK SPLASH and I knew it was a fish that hit. The ducklings and momma were hauling arse.
A big arse bass had a bite.

Feeding turtles and geese out of your hand is pretty cool. But watch out because the geese are frickers and will attack you and themselves. Sometimes I miss my drunken stupor in Jax
Nothing worse than catching a turtle on a rod and reel

They will bite the hell out of your finger and try to take the whole thing off. I counted about 25 around me wanting bread one time before I got the frick out.

And they'll put that neck out and joust you like a fricking knight of the round table

Bread is not a very good food source for ducks. The proper way to feed them is to go to a store and get some worms and cracked corn.

Cracked corn is the solution then...
I'll have to get a bag or two.
