Sleep Number i8 or i10. Wife has a tempurpedic it is in the guest room not nearly as comfortable nor adjustable. I’ve had the i8 for six years it’s been great.

Tempurpedic is the best and there is not a close second. Trust me.

If you can not afford it. Sealy posterpedic is very good as well.

Simmons and Beautyrest are absolute shite since their new ownership went profit over quality

Serta is decent but for the same price, Sealy is more advanced.

Bed in a box is trash. Only people who have never had a decent mattress say they are good. They have no density and do not last. Most reviews are fake or paid for. They even make their own websites and compare them to beds like Tempur or Sleep Number, but they are all created by the company selling the bed in a box.

As for which Tempur. Side sleeper try Pro Adapt soft or med. If not enough pressure relief do Luxe version of the soft(will feel in the middle of the two in terms of sink). If back sleeper for Pro Adapt Firm- Best back sleeper made.

Though if you have had surgery or suffer from major back issues, you then need to stay with Luxe Adapt because it has more pressure relief than any mattress made with its APR foam(about 10x the density of a bed in a box lol).

Got a bunch of Tuft & Needle recs

Wife researched the hell out of our mattress. We started at Casper and ended up on Tuft and Needle. It is a little firmer than Casper. I think the one we bought was about $1K.

We are one year in and I still cannot wait to get into bed daily. Highly recommend.

I sold Nectar. Its absolute trash. The foam is less dense than the 250 dollar mattresses we had.

Bed in a box is a scam for naive people who are to scared or lazy to try out beds. The company literally claims it is not a mattress company, but a marketing company that sells mattresses. Nectar spends 350k a day on ads. Yet only around 1 percent of their site visits purchase, and 30 percent of those sales return.

Their warranty is bullshite. 3 inches of sink needed to qualify. Meaning you'll need a large crater before getting the warranty.

The cost of producing a Nectar? Eighteen bucks for a King. Their mark up is substantially higher than Sealy, Tempur, or Serta. You are paying for not only the cheapest foam on the market, but the least dense foam in their support section(hence why it can be condensed in a box).

Tuft and needle is owned by Serta. Their marketing campaign is dog and pony show. Their gel is hot garbage. Your wives research was on websites paid for by those companies, which are a lot. The company that owns Nectar has 8 different bed in a boxes under different names. They have over 20 websites they make to review their own product. Like Nectar, the cheapest gel foam on the market is in Tuft. Now owned by Serta because Serta was late in the bed in a box game(which is dying off, because none of them last more than 6 years before sinking from lack of density).

You will be buying a new bed within 4 years. I'd bet my life on it.

I lost a $4k latex bliss in the flood and miss it every day.

Replaced with a cheaper Enso and latex bliss $600 topper which is nice but not the same.

SS you need to post the apologize gif to yourself for that one.

Real latex will last forever. Talalay Latex is the only bed that holds its shape longer than Tempur.

I never liked the feel...but it's very good quality. It's pretty expensive. A true latex bed will cost over 3k usually just like a Tempur.

I am unclear on how they do this. Do you look at a variety of factors with them and they put it all together?

All have a base cool now in the top layer phase material.

The Pro Breeze has some cool, about 3 degrees cooler than the base Tempur model(same layers as Adapt). I'd skip away from it honestly. The cooling is nice but you lose the APR of the Pro and Luxe and that is a far better value in the mattress for a similar cost. I sold very few Pro Breeze.

The Luxe Breeze is the best mattress made. Hands down. Its costly though. It's the coldest mattress ever made based on sleep climate(you under covers), and it's the most dense ever made by any brand(has APR like the Luxe model but perforated to allow it to push heat away from your body). That bed is cold when you lay down, and actually gets colder as you sleep. Its absurd.

I sleep on the Luxe Soft. My GF hated the Breeze was way to cold for her. Selling them I obviously got a huge discount though.

Jesus. So what was your experience with the T&F v. Casper like? We tested both and made a decision based on our own preferences. Didn't really get into the conspiracy theories regarding corporate ownership, etc from the mattress underground.

Genius. You mean like advertising? What bombshell are you going to drop next, that water is wet? We didn't buy based off of advertising, we tried them out.

They will build you a completely customized mattress if you want. Otherwise, they have some standard ones you can choose from. They are cheaper than the big box stores too. We've had ours for 7 years or so.

I sold them both also and never liked the feel of Tempur. Which makes sense because they feel very different so it would stand to reason that one would be preferred.

I see a lot of people mentioning California king in these threads. Why is this? Aren't they a good bit more expensive than a standard king?

He used to let you pick just about anything and offer different models. I bought a king from him a few months ago, he offers one he calls his “cheap bed” and one he calls his “Cadillac”. He said he stayed so busy making the cadillacs that he primarily makes those and he does occasional short runs of the cheaper one. He will do the Cadillac in whatever firmness you want but he does the medium firmness unless you request otherwise. He also makes his box springs whatever dimension you want.
