We treat our pets better than we treat our family. It should be up to the person deciding it, not any government.

Euthanasia should be legal everywhere. We’re sympathetic to the suffering of our pets but not of people. We pray for the end of our loved one’s terminal suffering but do nothing about it. That’s barbaric.

Should be legal but should never be allowed to be marketed in any way. Everything becomes marketed in this damn country unfortunately. I would hate for someone to research pain meds or cancer treatments then get bombarded with Facebook ads about assisted suicide.

I'm glad they fought if that was their choice, but there is some that don't want to fight any longer. That should be their choice too.

Definitely for, watched my mother die from bone cancer. If any of you have the opportunity, be sure to skip bone cancer.

So that would be your choice. Good for you. Others would like to choose differently.

If I was old and sick and every day was pure misery and pain, that ain't living. That's torture.

My dad was on hospice for about 10 days from pancreatic cancer.

The last three days were rough and he was never lucid or conscious. I would not wish that upon anyone. If he had a choice I know he would have liked to go a few days sooner.

If I'm diagnosed with something like Alzheimer's I'd want to be able to end it on my own terms.

I don’t get the dignity part. Nothing that happens to a person can take away his dignity. Only what a person does can. And I say this as someone who has seen the gamut of people dying in my personal and professional life.

Really, why would you need help committing suicide? Seems to be pretty easy to me.

I’m personally against it due to my religious beliefs.

However, I realize that religious beliefs don’t always need to dictate laws.

If assisted suicide was ever legalized here I would hope that healthcare providers have the right to refuse to assist due to their own moral/religious beliefs (Ex: a nurse has a right to refuse to administer the meds to accomplish this and another nurse is assigned to that task).

If someone is suffering and that's what they want to do, then I am all for it. Who should we be to tell someone they have to continue suffering?

I take offense to this. Yes, I am in the 'medical industry' and we are here to help, not to bolster our profit margin as I am sure you are alluding to. We don't make the laws.

We had to put down our dog. My wife and I comforted him as the vet gave him a shot. He laid down as if he was taking a nap and in a few seconds was gone. Very peaceful. I am an old man and have watched several friends and family members in various states of suffering before they finally passed. If I knew my time was near then I would rather die than suffer and put my love ones through that. My plan would be to have a fifth of bourbon to work on, get the same drug the doctors gave me when I get a colonoscopy to ease all pain, and then followed by a human dose of whatever they gave my dog
