Old roomy was a socialist. Conversations with him made my head hurt so I gave up talking politics with him.

Probably yesterday when several blue tick marked twitter types compared antifa to the soldiers invading Normandy.

People who are "preppers" and their reasons why they prep. I work with a guy that believes whole heartily that there will be a zombie apocalypse. He says that once the economy fails and the nation falls people wont be able to get their meds and will be very zombie like and they will roam the streets going crazy. I prep for hurricanes and that's about it.

When people insist that western Europe needs to keep its borders open to refugees coming from Syria. Especially when they won't acknowledge that Europeans are killed in terrorist attacks almost monthly. Especially when they won't acknowledge that Muslim refugees are almost always responsible for the attacks.

When people insist that transgender people need to be allowed to serve in the military. Especially when they have never served. Especially when they don't acknowledge the cost and problems is causes for the military.

My elderly aunt swears that she "knows for a fact" that OJ didn't kill Nicole and Ron Brown.

It was Marcus Allen!

Then goes through a ten minute tirade of "facts" that she says proves it without a doubt.

Pure crazy

Place I used work. We had to pull a late night, and one of the female coworkers brought her husband because the parking lot was dimly lit and she didn't like walking out there by herself. He and I are in the break room, making conversation, seemed like a nice enough fellow, then he started talking about the Jews...First and only time I had met somebody like that in person.

I was porking a girl and she made me stop because she didn't like the way the cranberry juice she just drank was sloshing in her stomach.

Ive never met anyone like this personally, but I've never really understood antisemitism. I understand why Hitler persecuted them because he needed a scapegoat for all the stupid shite he did, but just in general. The Jews have been persecuted since the beginning of time and they have been fairly unassuming peoples. I just never really understood why they have always gotten the shaft while never really being a significant percentage of the population or never done anything that good/bad.

My dad thinks the earth is 6k years old. I think he knows it's not, but he still tries to keep some beliefs from his jehova parents even though he's not really jehova.

A coworker of mine demanded that I say I would be fine if my wife aborted our near born child without telling me, because it is totally her decision. He then said he hoped that she did it. He was drunk. He is also my enployee, and he's been busting his arse for me since to get me to forget it.

To OP.

Held a conversation with two young (20 something) black girls at the bar I used to work at right after Alton Sterling got shot.

They said the only way a shooting by police would ever be justified is if the cop was shot first. Basically they said an officer should only pull his weapon after being shot/stabbed. Otherwise, they considered it an "intimidation move".

I asked them that if they ever felt threatened would they wait to hit the man/woman threatening until they had already been hit at least once. Blew their minds.

One of the most intelligent, clearest thinking people I know, works at the DEQ in BR, has always been a master gamesman in chess, etc. - legitimately believes in lizard aliens.

Maybe he just is one and is trying to tell me something.

I saw a Muslim guy praying at work once, facing north.

I guess he was praying on a great circle route?
