quote:Ok. But we also need to alert/remind OTers that there is also that poor lonely little Book Board to also check in on.
Sometimes we just NEED a thread like this in the OT. Few will travel over to the Books forum, so the occasional discussion here brings in others and new ideas for the readers among us.

I read this recently, it was not a long read or anything, but it was the last book I read.
There were a few things I was unsure about when it came to playing craps. Some of the bets I wasn't clear on (the come, the odds bet on pass line, the big 6 & 8) so I wanted to get an clearer understanding of those bets as well as clear up a few other rules.

Last book- When a Crocodile Eats the Sun
Amazon write-up:
About to start the Dark Tower series. I've always heard good things but just never got around to it.
Probably average a book a month.

After his father's heart attack in 1984, Peter Godwin began a series of pilgrimages back to Zimbabwe, the land of his birth, from Manhattan, where he now lives. On these frequent visits to check on his elderly parents, he bore witness to Zimbabwe's dramatic spiral downwards into the jaws of violent chaos, presided over by an increasingly enraged dictator. And yet long after their comfortable lifestyle had been shattered and millions were fleeing, his parents refuse to leave, steadfast in their allegiance to the failed state that has been their adopted home for 50 years. Then Godwin discovered a shocking family secret that helped explain their loyalty. Africa was his father's sanctuary from another identity, another world. WHEN A CROCODILE EATS THE SUN is a stirring memoir of the disintegration of a family set against the collapse of a country

Digital Gold. About Bitcoin. Lots of characters in intrigue was the book I was looking for about the history of crypto currencies. The others were overly technical or investment oriented
