I'm not sure how Vampires and Liches fit into the current conversation about inter-demographic drama, but I'm sure they're feeling with uncertainties and challenges we can't even imagine.
It's a unique time. The introduction of media has prolonged the situation. I remember 1816, when we didnt have a summer..so many people "distanced" and were inside. Was also a strange time, Mary Shelley began work on The Modern Prometheus..everyone blamed the freemasons and Benjamin Franklin's electrical experiments for the little ice age. People were growing crops inside their homes in urns.

I was a kid and early teen most of the decade. What I said there was from a comedy rant I once heard and I thought it was a good point. I know a lot of people were doing blow in the '80's, but that was mostly corporate folks.

I understand...... do some homework on how every decade has done since and IF you find the right source you will get a better idea of what I’m talking about....

quote:I'm sure being an 80's teen was awesome but that means I would have missed out on probably, imo, the greatest decade to be a kid in America. Awesome toys (GI Joe, Transformers, Voltron, etc...). BMX was big. Little league was $25 for the season and pretty much everyone played. We had Atari and Nintendo but cell phones were still an expensive novelty and internet was unknown to most people. We still played unsupervised all day and came home when the streetlights turned on. Movies were amazing.
Being an '80's kid was great. But, I've heard it said that '80's teens and college kids missed the drugs/free love of the late '60's and '70's and X/rainbow parties of the '00's, while the women were all wearing oversized sweatshirts and everyone was scared of AIDS.
And we went on to be 90's teens, which was still pretty great (even if not as great as others).

Great post. But, I had Intellivision, bro.
And we were a Betamax family because it was the superior product according to my pops.

I was teen in the '70's, and thought it sucked at the time. However, it was awesome.

60s or 80s.
70s had to live up to 60s and couldn’t.
90s brought a lot of pain for teenagers. Gangster rap and grunge music of 90s showed teens struggles and pain, not happiness of the 60s and 80s. Suicides, overdoses and Columbine scarred the 90s. It was not the greatest decade for teenagers.
With 9/11 the innocence was taken away from a whole new generation and even more mass shootings, so it’s not the 00s.
The 10s were pretty awesome for teens because of amazing economic run, so there were not a lot of struggles and the war on terror was finally being won.
20s are already a total train wreck.

Yeah, we looked at the guys that grew up in the 60's and thought they had it the best. You don't appreciate you have while you're there.

quote:Suicides and overdoses are common in every decade. If you're referring to high profile overdoses, the 60's and 70's put the 90's to shame. And Columbine didn't impact the majority of the 90's as it happened in April '99.

the 80's.... Nintendo, no social media, hair bands, 2 stroke dirt bikes and 3 wheelers, and most people were still skinny.

Suicides were at an all time high for teenagers age 14-19 in the 1990s and it’s really not even close, especially the first half of the decade. Columbine was a culmination of a tough decade for teens.

Late 60—early...70....my time...
Just watch the movie dazed and confused ...
First time I saw it I thought it was a documentary on my life:)
We had the benefits of the 60S movement and music but no draft so we’re not looking at a trip to the war ....drinking age was 18 so you could start around 14-15...driving age 15...cops were respected and in turn tried to not screw people lives over and tended to warn people of bad behavior if possible instead of jail.,.
Disco was sneaking in if you wanted it but still had leftover 60 and good early 70 music
