His story only touches on athletics, celebrity, racial tensions, issues with LAPD, class, domestic violence, justice system, and interracial relationships

Dude was a top 10 all time RB, a well-respected color commentator, loved and respected by pretty much everyone and a huge overall success story.. who happened to murdered two people including his ex in gory fashion. His arrest and trial was the most sensational television in anyone’s memory (at the time.)

It still is for a lot of people. And at a time when most people still didn’t even have cable. Entertainment options were so limited and that shite is crazy even still by todays standards.

The trial also took place right when DNA testing came on the scene, but finding 12 people that can comprehend what it was to form a jury was impossible and lead to a literal “Dumb and Dumber” moment.

“There’s a 1 in 9.7 billion chance that this isn’t OJ’s blood”

“So you’re saying there’s a chance?”

Younger people are looking at OJ through the lense of modern eyes. LAPD was the center for police corruption in the US. It ranged from infiltration from gangs to whatever special interest you can think of. It was a powder keg and OJ seemed go be the start of the end of the old LAPD.

The 30 For 30 OJ documentary was one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. Incredibly well done!

And heisman winner and movie/tv star. One of the biggest sports stars ever. I was a child when the white bronco chase went live on national tv. Wasn’t the trial on national tv too? I don’t understand how the OP doesn’t get it.
