When I was young my uncle an older LSU fan would call Ole Miss and State fans. Stump-jumpers

Massholes.

But it’s not an entirely inaccurate nickname and most wear it with pride.

'Dego' was commonly used amongst Italian family members and I believe was a derogatory term. However, I only ever heard it used between two Italians

is this really derogatory? Thought it just meant crazy?

Its more along the lines of calling someone a dumbass, but most people take it in a joking manner.

My father in law and my best friend's dad both referred to themselves as Dagos. And everyone called them that.

A friend of mine lived in Indiana and he called the local rednecks "hillbillies"

Personally, I'm well over 80% Coonass and I don't have a problem with that term.

I know quite a few Italians and they seem to be OK with Dago but get a bit riled if called a "Wop".

Hell, they even went as far as to get the famous "Wop Salad" cancelled and renamed to "Italian Salad".
