White tail deer has to be the laziest choice...not that the issue merits much thought but if a white tail deer was the choice no one did any thinking....

There's a great book about the history of whaling in this country called Leviathan. Strongly recommend. The Confederate Navy essentially ended whale harvesting in the US, and helped usher in the advent of the kerosene lamp.
